Official Statement on the Killing of Iraqi Citizen, Ahmed Ibrahim al-Jumaili

The Consulate General of the Republic of Iraq in Los Angeles has followed with great interest along with the Dallas Police Department and their Special Investigations Unit, regarding the shooting that took place on March 4th, 2015 in the city of Dallas, Texas, in which the life of Iraqi citizen Ahmed Adnan Ibrahim al-Jumaili was claimed while he was taking pictures in front of his home.

Communication has taken place between the concerned authorities in the city of Dallas, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and the victim’s family to know the details and motives of the incident and the results of the investigation, and to promptly inform the Iraq Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington.

The deceased was buried on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 in the Muslim cemetery of Denton, Texas. May God grant him infinite mercy and may his soul rest in peace. May his family be granted patience and closure.
