Amb. Nazar Al Khirullah met with the Mayor of the city of Houston in the state of Texas; they discussed opportunities for cooperation between both sides in the fields of oil, gas and renewable energy.
The Amb. underscored the activation of the twinning program between Basra Governorate and the city of Houston in Texas as well as the scholarship program between US universities in Houston in Texas and Iraqi universities in Iraq.
H.E. also highlighted the progress of opening the Consulate General of Iraq in Houston in Texas to provide consular services for the large Iraqi community in the city.
For his part, Sylvester Turner welcomed the Amb's visit and stressed the importance of opening the Iraqi consulate in the city as soon as possible and the joint work in various fields.
