Foreign Minister Meets Jordanian Counterpart in Amman

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed A. Alhakim met in Amman with Jordanian Foreign Minister Mr. Ayman Al- Safadi during a quick visit of Excellency President Barham Salih accompanied by the Foreign Minister and several officials. This meeting comes as a follow-up to Minister Ayman Al-Safadi's visit to Baghdad, which took place a few days ago.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues that concern the two brotherly countries, including energy, security and the Iraqi community affairs in Jordan, and it was agreed to form a joint working team between the two ministries to overcome obstacles and to complete all files concerning bilateral relations between the two sides.

The two sides discussed the most important regional issues, especially the Palestinian issue, the situation in Syria and the security of the region in general, and there was great correspondence between the two sides on cooperation and joint action in international forums to serve the interests of both countries.

Minister Alhakim stressed that the new government in Iraq has an ambitious program that needs support for its implementation and completion as soon as possible.

On his part, Minster Al-Safadi stressed that the security and stability of Iraq is the security and stability of Jordan and the prosperity of Iraq is the prosperity of Jordan.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Alhakim thanked his Jordanian counterpart for his hospitality and reception and signed the guest register at the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
