Foreign Minister Meets Jordanian Counterpart on Sidelines of 73rd Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York

Foreign Minister Dr.Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, they reviewed the progress of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Amman and the prospects for enhancing them to a level that meets the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

They discussed the overall developments in the Arab region.

Dr.Al-Jaafari affirmed Iraq's keenness to enhance joint cooperation with Jordan in various fields, pointing to the necessity to continue exchanging visits between officials of the two countries, because of their significant impact in increasing the volume of coordination and work between the two countries, calling on Jordanian companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraqi cities.

On his part, Mr. Ayman Safadi said: "We reaffirm our support for the security and stability of Iraq. We are proud of the great victories achieved by the Iraqis against the terrorist gangs of Daesh." We are always seeking to increase cooperation with Iraq and will contribute to reconstruction, building and investment in Iraq.
