Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Lebanese Foreign Minister Mr. Gebran Bassil. The two Ministers discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Beirut and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides touched on enhancing cooperation in the field of trade, oil and gas, and the importance of intensifying work towards new horizons of joint cooperation in other fields.
The two ministers also discussed the latest developments in regional issues of common concern, stressing the importance of strengthening the methods of Arab action towards the various challenges that face the region, including the Syrian scene, and the need to advance political solutions that would achieve security and stability, and preserve the unity and sovereignty of Syria.
The two sides concluded the meeting by exchanging views on the most important developments on the international arena, and agreed to continue consultations on various international issues.
