Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim Ali participated in the Climate Summit in the Iraqi delegation headed by the President of the Republic Dr. Barham Saleh.
The Summit took place at United Nations Headquarters in New York, and aims to mobilize support for an international agreement on climate change, and work on the ground in all sectors and discuss national action.
They include commitments to reduce the decline of natural forest areas, to seek to eliminate this issue which effects are felt everywhere and have consequences for people’s lives.
It is expected that the summit will result in initiatives and commitments that contribute effectively to address and establish a participatory framework to ensure the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and desertification of green lands.
