H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office today Sunday the U.S. Minister of Defense Mr. Ashton Carter and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the operation of "we are coming Nineveh" and the victories achieved by our brave forces in the battle in addition to the stabilization of the liberated areas and arming the Iraqi forces.
H.E. Dr. Al-Abadi confirmed that "the battle of liberating al-Mosul is going smoothly from all axes and our forces are committed to protect the civilians", indicating that the military victory against Da'esh became close.
On his part, Mr. Carter blessed the achieved victories in Mosul, and commended the professionalism and courage of the Iraqi forces including the army, police, and public mobilization and their commitment in the battle.
Mr. Carter renewed the support of his country and the international community to Iraq in its war against terrorism in addition to the continuation of the U.S. support to the stabilization of the liberated areas.
