H.E. Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi receives General Secretary of the GCC

His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received, at his residence at King Saud Palace in Riyadh, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani to discuss the development of relations between Iraq and the GCC countries, issues of mutual interest, strengthening security, stability, and economic cooperation.

His Excellency stressed that the Gulf Cooperation Council is important for Iraq, cooperation and economic relations should move forward for the better, Pointing out that Iraq is keen to work within its Arab and Islamic arena to establish balanced relations that serve the interests of our peoples, It is important for our environment to be stable and prosperous. We have a lot of joint issues that gather us to build trust, overcome differences and create good conditions for cooperation.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council provides the political will and serious desire of the GCC countries to cooperate with Iraq to achieve joint and integrated work, He said: We seek to build privileged relations with Iraq, I assure you that your brothers in the GCC are fully prepared to build bridges of cooperation with Iraq and support it, we have a great desire to work to enhance security, stability and economic cooperation, Expressing his satisfaction with the stability of Iraq and the Iraqi government's direction and responsiveness to the challenges with responsibility, wisdom, and cooperation.

The meeting was attended by the Iraqi ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a number of advisers.
