His Excellency Prime Minister Dr.Haider Al-Abadi received, on Monday ,a phone call from the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The Saudi monarch expressed the Kingdom's support for Iraq's unity and its rejection of the results of the referendum in the Kurdistan region, adding that Saudi Arabia is closely following the developments in Kirkuk, especially that Iraq has achieved remarkable victories against terrorism.
King Salman assured the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to establish the best relations with Iraq and to enhance the cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi thanked the Kingdom's support for Iraq, pointing out that what the Iraqi government has done is to re-deploy Iraqi forces in Kirkuk in a quick and smooth process that did not result in any casualties or wounded. The deployment was easy as Kirkuk should be under control Federal authority according to the Constitution.
He also stressed Iraq's keenness to establish the best relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which Iraqi ministerial delegation will visit next week to sign cooperation agreements in the interest of both countries.
