Iraqi Foreign Minister Concluded his Representation for Iraq at 73rd Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York

Foreign Minister Dr. Al-Jaafari concluded his representation for Iraq at 73rd Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York by meeting with the staff of Iraq's representtion to the United Nations.

He praised the efforts made by the staff of the mission to make Iraq's representation in the meetings of the United Nations a success , stressing that Iraq has broken the isolation that it faced for many years and was able to extend bridges with all countries of the world and mobilize international efforts to help it in its war against Daesh terrorist gangs. Noting that the achievements of diplomatic successes came in concurrence with the efforts of the staff of the Foreign Ministry without exception, pointing out that Iraq has committed to the positive role in the issues of the region and the world, and has not compromised its stances and always called for peace and stability of the region and avoid wars and conflicts that threaten the people and waste wealth.

In his 6 days and 31 meetings in New York, Minister Dr. Al-Jaafari reviewed the security and political situation in addition to the Iraqi efforts, their victories in the war against Daesh terrorist gangs, and mobilized global support for the reconstruction of Iraqi cities' infrastructure by delivering 9 speeches ; A speech at the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, a speech at the Arab Foreign Ministers' Meeting, a speech at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Group of 77 and China, a speech at the Ministerial Conference of Friends of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Tests, a speech at the Conference adopted by the European Union and the United Nations on support for the future of Syria, and a speech in the forum of ancient civilizations, and a speech at the ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends of the protection of cultural heritage, and the speech in the round table called by the Prime Minister of Canada on investment in education and support for women.

Minister also represented Iraq in four meetings through his participation in a meeting to adopt a Global Call to Action against Narcotic Drugs, participation in the Nelson Mandela World Peace Summit, participation in the signing of the Code of Conduct for a World without Terrorism, and participation in the International Peace Institute Symposium.

In addition, Dr. Al-Jaafari also participated in 18 meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Australia, Estonia, Cyprus, Norway, the Secretary of State for Commonwealth and United Nations Affairs, the British Secretary of State for Middle East and North Africa, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Executive Director of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism and the Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism, the Head of the Investigation Team of Accountability of Daesh crimes, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Executive Director of UNESCO.
