Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Participate in Conversation at the Wilson Center in Washington DC

The Wilson Center's Middle East Program hosted Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Dr. Fuad Hussein, on February 13th, 2023, in Conversation with Ambassador James Jeffrey, Chair of the Middle East Program and former US Ambassador to Iraq. During the Conversation, the two parties discussed the Iraqi American relations and their prospects in supporting stability efforts in the Middle East, the common ties between the two countries, and each party's aspiration to further ratify the cooperative economic frameworks in light of the Strategic Framework Agreement and displaying Iraq's role in bringing regional views closer and its cooperative relations with both Egypt and Jordan within the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism's framework. In addition to Iraq's close cooperation with Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and its efforts to host the third Baghdad Conference to proceed with building bridges of cooperation and promoting regional dialogue that enhances mutual benefit.
