For the first time since the 1990s, Kuwait Airways, the national airline of Kuwait, has resumed service to select destinations in Iraq. The return of this service indicates improved relations between the two neighbor countries.
Kuwait Airways plans to fly twice a week to Najaf. Iraq's state airline resumed flights between Baghdad and Kuwait in February.
Other indicators of improved ties between the two countries include recent official visits by high ranking members of the Iraqi and Kuwait governments.
