The envoy of the Republic of Iraq for the climate Dr. Ali Al-Lami met with Mr. Rick Duke, Assistant to the US Presidential Envoy for Climate Affairs, on 9/2/2023. During this meeting. Dr. Ali Al-Lami, displayed the environmental reality in Iraq and the effects of climate changes on the country, gave a detailed explanation of the challenges that Iraq suffers in this field, as it is among the countries in the world most affected by climate change. He also reviewed the efforts of the new Iraqi government to fulfill its international commitments, and its endeavor to advance in the field of cooperation, environment and climate within the framework of the existing strategic dialogues between the two countries.
