PRESIDENT MEETS WITH PRIME MINISTER OF NORWAY ERNA SOLBERG

Meeting today at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, President Salih stressed that Iraq looks forward to work jointly with the fraternal and friendly States to advance regional security and stability, mitigate the tensions as well as avoiding further escalation which would undermine the chance of peace regionally and internationally.
The President noted the importance of finding a solution to the Syrian problem by peaceful means which need to be free from external interference and military operations. Seeking to provide urgent assistance and support to refugees and displaced persons owing to military operations which are being conducted by Turkey into Northern Syria, he pointed out.
Together, President Salih and Ms. Solberg discussed the means of advancing bilateral ties and boosting the prospects for cooperation between the two friendly nations across all the fields. They reviewed international's efforts in the war against terror.
