Ambassador Faily sat down with Voice of America last week to discuss the latest developments in Iraq. He discussed the ongoing situation in Anbar and disputed the prevailing sectarian narrative, noting the Iraqi government's "evenhanded" approach to tackling extremist groups throughout the country.

Ambassador Faily stressed that Iraq and the United States were cooperating at the highest levels to ensure that Iraq is equipped to fight Al-Qaeda militants. He highlighted aspects of the strategic partnership including cooperation on counter-terrorism and technology-transfer.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Thursday, with major American companies specializing in oil and gas. The meeting was part of a roundtable organized by the Arab-American Chamber of Commerce AACC in Houston, Texas, as part of his official visit to the United States.
