Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim delivered Iraq's speech at the high-level meeting of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, in which he affirmed the Iraqi Government's adherence to disarmament, non-proliferation and disarmament treaties to promote peace and global stability.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Mr. Filippo Grandi in Geneva on the sidelines of the 40th session of the Human Rights Council.

The meeting discussed the humanitarian situation in Iraq and stressed the need of Iraq for the efforts of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations because the legacy of the war on terror was very strong on the Iraqis and called for the importance of expanding the work of the UNHCR and providing more necessary supplies for displaced families , expressing thanks and appreciation for the efforts... His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi spoke via phone with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, renewing his condolence and consolation to the Government and the People of fraternal Egyptian, sympathizing with the families of the victims of a train collision in the Ramses station in Cairo.

His Excellency confirmed that what happens to the people of Egypt affect the Iraqi people, praying to Allah for the victims of the tragic accident to hold them in his mercy, and wishing for the wounded a quick recovery.

His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received this day in his office, the Chairman of the Iraqi-British Business Council Baroness Emma Nicholson, they discussed joint cooperation between Iraqi and British businessmen, companies and the proposed investment projects in Iraq.

His Excellency confirmed that the stability of Iraq provides an opportunity to increase the efforts of construction and reconstruction, welcoming cooperation between Iraqi and British companies within the framework of the Business Council.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Minister Alhakim expressed Baghdad's interest in promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Both sides reviewed the overall bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries, and the common willingness to strengthen these relations, as well as the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.

President Barham Salih received H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian President and his accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad on Monday, March 4, 2019.
An official welcoming ceremony was held. The national anthems of the two countries were played. The two Presidents inspected the Presidential Guards who lined up to salute them.
His Excellency expressed his great pleasure and welcomed the visit of the Palestinian President to Iraq, wishing him a fruitful and successful visit.
