The Foreign Ministry affirms Iraq's keenness on the security of its neighbors and its refusal to use its territory to threaten the security of those countries. Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, early Tuesday morning Baghdad time, received the U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Wally Adeyemo, and his accompanying delegation at his residence in Washington, D.C. The meeting was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received a phone call on May 25, 2015 from United States Vice President Mr. Joe Biden. Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein during his visit to Brussels, which is the second round of his official tour to European countries, stated that Iraq is a promising country and has the future, adding that “We are trying to make clear to neighboring countries that we want to establish balanced relations … We ask neighboring countries to respect the sovereignty of Iraq, and not to interfere in its affairs.”

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from German Foreign Minister Mr. Heiko Maas. The two Ministers discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and the prospects for promoting them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed his keenness to enhance ways of bilateral cooperation with Berlin in various fields.

The Foreign Minister directs the Iraqi embassies in China, Iran, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Italy and Singapore to stop granting entry visas to expatriates and exclude Iraqis from these countries, as well as diplomats working in diplomatic missions, and official delegations provided they are subject to the procedures of the Ministry of Health.
