More than 25 countries participated in the conference, with over 40 experts and specialists discussing ways to combat terrorism.

The Foreign Minister, Mr. Fuad Hussein, participates in webinar (via closed-circuit television) to discuss the situation of refugees and displaced persons during the pandemic with the participation of Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and Pakistan, and a representative of the European Union and the High Commissioner for Refugees and Displaced Persons.

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, the Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received his Japanese counterpart, Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, in Baghdad. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly countries. The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of common interest.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim delivered Iraq’s speech at the Ministerial Conference to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington organised by the US State Department.
In his speech, Minister Alhakim stressed that the essence of humanity is the common factor among societies, pointing out that coexistence between religions in Iraq is a popular culture of the people, creating an environment of creativity in many fields, including literature, art and scientific research.

"Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses rejection and outrage at the Turkish aggression in Sinjar, northern Iraq. This aggression is a flagrant violation of all international conventions and treaties, and incompatible with the principles of good-neighbourliness.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim praised the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Kuwait, expressing his appreciation for the positions of Kuwait in support of Iraq, the latest of which was presented by the Emir of the State of Kuwait to Iraq by donating $ 10 million to support efforts to combat Coronavirus
This came in a telephone call received by Minister Alhakim from his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah, who will deliver the sum to the World Health Organization in Geneva to purchase emergency equipment and medical supplies for Iraq.

Minister Fuad Hussein also noted that foreign policy is a reflection of the unity of national decisions and positions, calling for a realistic consideration of the challenges facing the country.

Concerning opportunities, the Foreign Minister stated that the Ministry adopts the principle of balance, multiple partnerships, and openness to all parties within the framework of awareness of the constitution and the laws in force, indicating that the principles of good neighborliness, culture, history and others that are stable in Iraq’s relationship with its neighbors are all subject to... Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim received a phone call from his German counterpart Mr. Heiko Maas congratulating him on his assumption of his duties as foreign minister in the elected Iraqi government.

Minister Maas stressed Germany's support for the new government and its willingness to cooperate constructively for the benefit of the two friendly countries.

On his part Minister Alhakim thanked Minister Maas and expressed his sincere desire to develop bilateral relations between Iraq and Germany and to facilitate all means to achieve common interests.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met Foreign Minister of Vatican Arch. Paul Richard Gallagher, during the meeting the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations and horizons to promote them to meet the aspirations of the two peoples.
