Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the visit of Excellency President Barham Salih to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Minister Zarif congratulated Minister Alhakim on the occasion of assuming the post of Foreign Minister in the new Iraqi government, wishing him success in his mission.

During the meeting the efforts and sacrifices made by Iraq in combating terrorism and eliminating terrorist groups were praised.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif on the occasion of his assumption of the post of Foreign Minister of Republic of Iraq.
The two sides praised the relations achieved between Baghdad and Tehran, and the cooperation between the two countries to achieve the ambition of the two friendly peoples.

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Mrs. Ine Eriksen Soreide. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two countries, and the latest political, security, regional and international developments, in addition to Iraq’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East, the latest of which was Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership that was held at the end of last August.

The Foreign Ministry of Iraq expresses the solidarity of the Government and the people of Iraq with the brothers in the Republic of Tunisia following the floods that swept through Nabeul governorate in the north-east of the country, resulting in a number of casualties and damage to buildings and public and private facilities. The Iraqi Foreign Ministry extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and prays for speedy recovery of injured.

Iraq, represented by Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim chaired the emergency session of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers at the League of Arab states to discuss the Turkish offensive on Syrian territory....

The Iraq ministry of foreign affairs confirms the submission of an official note to the Turkish and Iranian Embassies more than a week ago, included an official request by the Iraqi government to both friendly countries with the following:

1- Both countries must exclusively deal with the federal government on regard to the border crossing and closing all access sites with Kurdistan until the federal government takes control.

Iraq is keen to adhere to the agreements and the memorandums of understanding it has with the countries of the world within the framework of exchanging interests and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Iraq had concluded a consular memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Turkey in 2009, stipulating that the traveler obtain the entry visa at border crossing points without reviewing the relevant embassy or consulate; In order to facilitate the movement of nationals of both countries, the Turkish side suspended work on the content of this memorandum, on its part the Iraqi... The Iraqi Foreign Ministry regrets the statement by the United States Administration on the discontinuation of its financial assistance to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which is a major disappointment for the peace efforts sought by world's nations and humanitarian organizations to bring justice to the heroic Palestinian people, to resolve their just cause and to end the unjust violation.
