President Barham Salih received Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi the Prime Minister, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad on Monday, February 11, 2019.
During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments in the security and political situations and the stages of the implementation of the government program to promote the status of services delivered to citizens to meet their needs.

Washington, DC (June 5, 2014) – In response to several queries regarding the U.S. government’s recent decision to terminate immunities granted to the Development Fund for Iraq and other Iraqi entities, the Embassy of Iraq would like to make the following clarification:

The Republic of Iraq welcomes the decision by the U.S. government to remove decade-old immunities that were granted to protect certain Iraqi financial entities and sectors from lawsuits following the collapse of Saddam Hussein’s regime.

In addition to the efforts to include the Iraqi archaeological sites on the World Heritage List, the issue of including the ancient city of Babylon will be discussed at the 43rd session of the Azerbaijani capital Baku with the participation of more than 180 countries.

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq hosted an Iftar event to bring together the Iraqi community in Washington, DC.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from German Foreign Minister Mr. Heiko Maas. The two Ministers discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and the prospects for promoting them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed his keenness to enhance ways of bilateral cooperation with Berlin in various fields.

President Salih hosted a meeting of the Presidencies today into the al- Salam palace in the presence of the Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi and the Speaker of Parliament Mohammed al-Halbouosi.
Together, they discussed the various aspects of political and security developments in Iraq as well as the most recent evolutions regionally and globally.

On May 20, 2015, Ambassador Faily participated in a roundtable discussion at NATO’s Norfolk, Virginia Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (ACT) headquarters.

Ambassador Faily joined a distinguished military base leadership consisting of Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (DSACT), the Chief of Staff (COS) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

NATO-ATC’s responsibilities include education, training and exercises; and these were discussed during the roundtable as they are of particular interest to Iraq and the fight to eradicate Daesh.
