A tripartite meeting was held in Baghdad on 4 August 2019 and included Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Mohamad A. The United States reaffirmed their support for Iraq in the fight against al-Qaeda and commended the Government of Iraq for the steps taken to integrate tribal forces.

His Excellency Prime Minister the commander of the armed forces Dr. Haider Abadi has confirmed the importance of not politicizing the Popular Mobilization Units, Indicating that the stories of sacrifice done by heroes of the Popular Mobilization Units and security forces must be documented.

This came during his visit to the Popular Mobilization's Assembly, while he has met with the officials of the brigades and directorates in the Authority, where he has blessed for the pilgrims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and for completing their ritual, wishing them a safe return.

On July 13, Ambassador Al Khirullah met with Steve Lutes, Vice President of Middle East Affairs at US Chamber of Commerce and Head of Iraqi-American Business Council (USIBC) and discussed with him the meetings’ outcome of the Iraqi-American Business Council’s delegation visit to Iraq last June, highlighting the government’s orientation towards boosting commercial relations and partnership between the private sector of both countries; and reviewing the government’s priorities on energy, renewable energy, desalination and cooperation in health sector between both countries’ institutes. ......
