The Iraqi Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the crash of the Indonesian passenger plane which crashed today off the coast of Java, and claimed the lives of 189 people.

President Barham Salih has arrived to Baghdad, today Monday, April 1, 2019, after an active participation in the Arab summit in its 30th session in Tunis.
On the sidelines of the summit, His Excellency met with a number of kings and leaders of brotherly countries, as well as with the UN Secretary-General, and the EU's Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Chief.
The President also delivered Iraq's speech at the summit, in which he asserted that the basic principle of Iraq's international relations is joint action with all on the basis of common interests.

President Barham Salih arrived in the city of Erbil, Monday, June 10, 2019, to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the President of Kurdistan Region.
His Excellency was received at Erbil International Airport by Messrs. Nechirvan Barzani, Qubad Talabani, and senior officials of Kurdistan Region.

During his official visit to the United States, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with representatives of the Iraqi community in Washington D.C. and other U.S. states.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his pride and appreciation for the Iraqi communities in the United States and around the world, emphasizing that Iraq belongs to all Iraqis. Text of the first package of reforms presented by the Prime Minister, Dr. Haidar Al-Abadi and unanimously voted on by the Council of Ministers on August 9, and ratified by the Council of Representatives on August 11:

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboussi, accompanied with a parliamentary delegation, met the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in all fields.

H.E. the Speaker said that the extremist terrorist organization targets not only Iraq but also targets the world, and the international community has to unite to fight this organization.
