IN RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT SALIH’S BID, THE UNESCO AGREES TO RELOCATE ITS REGIONAL OFFICE TO IRAQ

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has responded to President Barham Salih’s call to move its regional headquarters to Baghdad instead of Amman.
The Organization announced the consent following a telephone conversation between President Salih and the Director General of the Organization, Ms. Audrey Azoulay, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Culture.

Into the Presidential Palace in Baghdad today, holding a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, President Salih stressed the importance of continuous coordination and joint work which would avert Iraq and the region the conflicts and the war. Al-Halboosi meets US House of representatives Speaker

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, met the US Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.

‏The meeting discussed enhancing bilateral relations, activating parliamentary friendship committees and continuing joint cooperation in all fields.

‏The meeting affirmed the openness of Iraq to the international community to proceed with reconstruction and investment by attracting international companies, including US companies, as well as providing job opportunities for citizens and eliminating unemployment.
