On July 13, Ambassador Al Khirullah met with Steve Lutes, Vice President of Middle East Affairs at US Chamber of Commerce and Head of Iraqi-American Business Council (USIBC) and discussed with him the meetings’ outcome of the Iraqi-American Business Council’s delegation visit to Iraq last June, highlighting the government’s orientation towards boosting commercial relations and partnership between the private sector of both countries; and reviewing the government’s priorities on energy, renewable energy, desalination and cooperation in health sector between both countries’ institutes. ...... Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah met with a group of members of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom at the Embassy’s building. The Ambassador reviewed the course of political action in Iraq and affirmed the Iraq government’s commitment to achieving the interests of its people of all sects and respecting their human rights, in accordance with what is stipulated in the Iraqi Constitution, which guarantees peaceful coexistence.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah met with the Democratic representative from Massachusetts Moulton, and co-chair of the Iraq Support Group in the US Congress. Common issues and bilateral relations between both countries were discussed, and representative Moulton expressed his desire to visit Iraq.

H.E. Nazar Al Khirullah, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States of America presented his credentials to the chief of protocol of the United States this morning June 6 at the headquarters of the Department of State in Washington DC.

H.E. Al Khairallah conveyed, through this ceremony, the greetings of H.E. the President of the Republic, H.E. PM, H.E. Deputy PM Minister of Foreign Affairs and the people of Iraq expressing his hope that this era would be a beginning for the expansion of political and economic partnership between the two friendly countries ...

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi met the US Vice President Mike Pence.

The meeting discussed the relations between Baghdad and Washington, files of mutual interest and continued cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

Efforts to eliminate terrorism, combat extremist ideology, eliminate funding sources and the continue of US-led international coalition to provide security and intelligence support to Iraq were also discussed.
