Today, President Salih attended the opening of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York City.
His Excellency is set to deliver a speech to the assembled world leaders tomorrow, updating the distinguished body on Iraq’s latest accomplishments and developments.

Meeting with the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte today in Davos, Switzerland, President Salih examined bilateral relations.
The President and Premier Rutte highlighted the ways of improving their ties and joint cooperation.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation from the American company Baker Hughes at his residence in Washington, D.C., early Thursday morning (Baghdad time).
During the meeting, they discussed the company`s operations in Iraq in the oil and gas sectors. The Prime Minister stressed that gas projects are a priority for the government to meet the needs of power stations and to stop the environmental damage caused by gas flaring. He encouraged the company to contribute to establishing a chemical plant for materials used in drilling and oil extraction processes.

On July 13, Ambassador Al Khirullah met with Steve Lutes, Vice President of Middle East Affairs at US Chamber of Commerce and Head of Iraqi-American Business Council (USIBC) and discussed with him the meetings’ outcome of the Iraqi-American Business Council’s delegation visit to Iraq last June, highlighting the government’s orientation towards boosting commercial relations and partnership between the private sector of both countries; and reviewing the government’s priorities on energy, renewable energy, desalination and cooperation in health sector between both countries’ institutes. ...... President Salih arrived in Erbil this afternoon.
His Excellency was received by Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, President of Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and Mr. Firsat Sofi, the Governor of Erbil, at the Erbil International Airport, along with various senior staff.
President Salih plans on holding meetings with a number of senior officials in the Kurdistan Region to discuss lingering issues between the Federal Iraqi Government and the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government.

Iraqi Ambassador to the United States Lukman Faily today responded to security developments in Iraq, including terrorist gains in some critical areas of Mosul, and highlighted new directives approved by Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and his Cabinet to address the ongoing crisis.
