The President Mourns with Victims of Anfal Genocide

President Salih met today with dozens of family members who lost loved ones during the infamous Anfal genocide of the 1980s.

Taking care to listen to all their concerns in the Al Salam Palace in Baghdad, the President stated clearly that this violence was a genocidal act aimed at the Kurdish people and will forever be a wound that is never fully healed in the hearts of all Iraqis. Statement: Foreign Ministry Rejects Bombing that Targeted Koya Sengaq In Erbil

The Foreign Ministry affirms Iraq's keenness on the security of its neighbors and its refusal to use its territory to threaten the security of those countries. It rejects the violation of Iraqi sovereignty by bombing any target within Iraqi territory without prior coordination with the Iraqi authorities to spare civilians the effects of such operations.

Foreign Minister Supports International Efforts to Restore Security and Stability in Libya

On 18 June 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Najla El-Mangoush, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and means of joint cooperation.
H.E. affirmed Iraq’s support for international efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, and to resort to political solution to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
