WASHINGTON, DC – The Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security welcomed the Ambassador of Iraq, His Excellency Lukman Faily, at a roundtable discussion with fellow ambassadors from Chile, Czech Republic, Morocco and Singapore to discuss diplomacy beyond the nation-state with regards to the 2015 QDDR (Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review). Joining them in the discussion chaired by Atlantic Council President & CEO, Frederick Kempe was Hon. Paula Dobriansky and the Special Representative for the QDDR, Hon. Thomas Perriello.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with a delegation from General Dynamics, a major American manufacturer of weapons and military equipment, at his residence in Washington D.C. The meeting focused on cooperation with the company as part of the government`s efforts to rebuild Iraq`s military capabilities, specifically in providing tanks and armored vehicles.

On January 29, 2025, a cultural event was held in Washington for the members of the Muslim Women’s Association, attended by the Tunisian Ambassador, the wives of several ambassadors, and a number of American and foreign dignitaries.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah received Ambassador Holliday W. Stuart, the CEO of Meridian International Centre at the Embassy’s headquarters on June 23; the two sides discussed the potential partnership between the Embassy & the Center with respect to diplomats’ capacity building programs; promoting cultural ties between both peoples of Iraq and US and managing energy programs. Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Estonian Foreign Minister Mr. Urmas Reinsalu on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
Minister Alhakim stressed Baghdad’s keenness to develop bilateral relations with Estonia in various fields, calling on the Estonian side to establish a real partnership, especially in the economic aspects,which can provide development opportunities in both countries.
