WASHINGTON, DC -- The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq deeply mourns the death of the Iraqi F-16 pilot Rasid Hasan, after his plane crashed during a training mission at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.

Brigadier General Hasan's dedication to serving his country will continue to be honored and remembered among our nation.

Fallujah’s Liberation From ISIL Control Progressing, Official Says

WASHINGTON, May 27, 2016 — Iraqi security forces operations backed by the U.S.-led coalition are progressing toward liberating the key Iraqi city of Fallujah from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant control and killed the city’s ISIL commander, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren told Pentagon reporters today.

Briefing from Baghdad by teleconference, Warren said Iraqi forces have cleared Karmah, 10 miles northeast of Fallujah, but have not yet entered the city of about 50,000 Iraqi residents.

FM and the Russian vice president head the Preparatory Meeting of the mutual Iraqi- Russian committee

Foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari and the Russian vice president Mr. Demitry Roghozen headed the mutual Iraqi- Russian committee in Moscow, preparing to hold the seventh session of the committee activities on 2018.

Both sides reviewed the bilateral Iraqi- Russian economic, commercial relations, and continue working on developing the legal and Regulatory basis for the bilateral cooperation between both countries, I addition to discussing the developed cooperation in industry and increasing the efforts in developing the cooperation in Oil and Gas.
