On the background of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s bombing of military camps inside Iraq that include Iraqi and non-Iraqi forces, the Foreign Ministry summoned the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq on the morning of 9/1/2020, the Chargé d’ffaires a.i of Iran

President Salih congratulated today Iraqi police forces and all its formations, commanders, officers and soldiers, on the occasion of the anniversary of founding.
The following is the text of congratulations:

Into the Presidential Palace in Baghdad today, holding a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, President Salih stressed the importance of continuous coordination and joint work which would avert Iraq and the region the conflicts and the war. We don't want our territory to be a staging post for any hostile action against any of our neighbors, or be as a battleground for a proxy-war, he added.

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, called today, Wednesday, the Iraqi government to take the necessary measures to preserve Iraqi sovereignty from the violations taking place and to drive the country away from the conflict circle.

The Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the bombing of the Headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces brigade by the US forces, which we view as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Iraq, and a condemned act, which is rejected by all customs and laws that govern relations between states.
