President Salih received today at his residence in Davos NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg. The two leaders discussed the last decision of the Council of Representatives on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq, stressed the importance of respecting Iraq's sovereignty and its independent decision.
Developments of the security situation, in addition to the necessity of uprooting terrorism and supporting security and stability in Iraq and the region, have been reviewed by the two sides.

The Deputy Chair of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to Washington DC and the Vice President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa signed, at the headquarters of the Bank in Washington DC, on Tuesday 20th December, 2016 two loans, first of which is at the value of ( $ 1 billion , 443, 820,000 ) to support the Iraqi investment policy, and the second is at the value of ( $ 41 million , 500, 000) to finance public projects.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abadi has called for scientific researchers to meet the need of Iraqis in all fields of agriculture, industry, oil, energy, security and others.
This came during his Excellency speech at the Sixth International Scientific Conference on Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials and its Applications, where he has commended holding of the conference at the appropriate time while the country is moving towards construction, rebuilding, development of the economy, industries, and energy.

H.E. President of the Republic Dr. Barham Salih met with the Lord Speaker of the British House of Lords Peter Norman Fowler while he was paying a visit to the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, in London, on Wednesday's today, June 26, 2019.
His Excellency the President commended UK's role and its supporting stances for the government and the people of Iraq in addressing terrorism as well as its contributing in building Iraq's cities, chiefly the liberated areas.

The government has taken promising actions recently in Iraq to activate the coordination at the ministerial level with respect to GCC electric interconnection project so as to achieve technical stability in Iraqi electricity network & exchanging power supply.

The conference, hosted by the U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce, took place August 20-22, 2013 at the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island and included leaders from the corporate community and others interested in promoting economic relationships between Arab countries and the United States.

The Independent High Electoral Commission announced the possibility of opening polling centers in 13 countries including the United States, allowing Iraqi citizens abroad the opportunity to cast their votes in the 2014 parliamentary elections.

President Salih received Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili in New York City today, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
During the meeting, both presidents discussed further securing bilateral relations, as well as the importance of improving and broadening mutual cooperation in all relevant fields as befits two friendly nations.
Together, they also reviewed recent political and security developments in the region and around the world.
