The Iraqi government categorically renews its rejection and condemnation of any act that destabilizes the security and stability of diplomatic missions in Iraq, especially what the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Consulate in Karbala has been went recently through.
As we draw attention to the government’s actions during the past few days in this regard, we point out the continuation of investigations to uncover the identity of the perpetrators and taking appropriate measures to reach the results.

The bilateral meeting has started between Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Yury Borisov .

Both side, discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Moscow, and ways to promote them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari praised the contributions of the participating countries to the Iraq Reconstruction Conference held in Kuwait on 12-14 February 2018, praising the distinguished role of the State of Kuwait in organizing this conference.

The minister said in a speech during the conference: "The cost required for the losses of Iraq is very large, but if we cannot cover the full needs, we should not ignore the assistance they provide, whatever it is." Minister Alhakim stressed the need to expedite the process of appointing the Ambassador of Iraq to the Republic of Cyprus, and called for the convening of the quartet meeting of foreign ministers: Iraq, Jordan, Greece and Cyprus; in line with what was agreed at the tripartite summit held in Amman on 14/4/2019, Minister Alhakim pointed to the importance of the World Conference on Reconstruction and Development in Iraq scheduled to be held in Nicosia from 6-12 12/2019.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated on Monday 20/9/2021 in the annual consultative meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which was held at the headquarters of the permanent mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations.

The Pope’s visit to Iraq, Mesopotamia, the land of Messengers and Prophets, and the homeland of Ur and Prophet Abraham represents a historic event and is considered support for all Iraqis.

It also represents a message of peace to Iraq and the entire region, affirms the unity of the humanitarian position in confronting extremism and conflicts, and promotes diversity, tolerance and coexistence.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received the Iranian Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, and the two sides held extensive discussions related to developing relations between the two countries, and ways to advance bilateral cooperation.

Minister Fuad Hussein praised the close historical relations, joint cooperation and unity of visions that bind the two countries, stressing his keenness to enhance and consolidate cooperation with Tehran in various fields in a way that benefits the interests of the two peoples.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Adil Al-Jubair.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means of strengthening them to achieve common interests , and the regional and international issues of concern to the two brotherly countries. Minister Alhakim called for the importance of concerted efforts to resolve the crises effecting the region.
