Foeign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met on Tuesday 10/8/2021 his counterpart Mohammed Javad Zarif in Tehran.

The Minister expressed his desire to work to support and strengthen relations between Baghdad and Tehran in a way that reflects their depth, stressing his keenness to maintain bilateral cooperation in various fields in the next stage to achieve the common interests of the two countries, and to activate the memorandums of understanding agreed upon with the Iraqi government.

The foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari arrived to Geneva in Switzerland, to represent Iraq in the meetings of the human rights council of the united Nations for the first time after Iraq's acquiring 173 votes and choosing it as the vice president of the human rights council.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Dutch Prime Minister Mr. Mark Rutte, and conveyed the greeting of President Mr. Barham Saleh, and Prime Minister Mr. Adil Abdul Mahdi.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism and the issue of foreign terrorist fighters. They also discussed the support and training of Iraqi security forces by the Dutch side.

After Iraq folded the page of the war against Daash terrorist gangs , Iraq stands today on the verge of a new stage of reconstruction and building its cities, to achieve development in various fields. In this regard, we point to the success of the recent parliamentary elections held in Iraq on 12/5/2018, And the Iraqis' affirmation of concrete practical evidence for adopting a pluralistic democratic approach to their lives, ensuring that all of them achieve progress, progress and social justice.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with the Secretary General of the League of Arab States Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit and discussed the latest developments in the region, especially the Palestinian issue, the implications of the US decision on the law of Israeli settlements, and the importance of adhering to international and Arab resolutions on Palestine.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim stressed that Iraq has presented many martyrs in the war against terrorism in defense of their country's land and unity: stating Iraq's determination to be a starting point for enhancing security and peace between different cultures and religions as a member of the Human Rights Council.

The Minister expressed the keenness of Iraq to disseminate the culture of human rights, especially in institutions that are responsible for law enforcement.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Mr. Jan Kubis the former Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) in Iraq.
Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of the United Nations active role in supporting and assisting Iraq in various political, security and humanitarian field, stating that the United Nations is the umbrella responsible for the protection and support of the people of the world.

On 18 June 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein participated in the opening of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, with the participation of a number of state leaders, heads of government, foreign ministers, and academics.
Mr. Hussien’s participation in this forum comes to reaffirm Iraq’s active presence in international fora, to express Iraq’s visions and stances towards regional and international issues of a political, security and economic nature.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received the US ambassador to Iraq on Monday 28/9/2020 , and the two sides held discussions that focused on issues related to the security and political situation, and Iraqi-American relations in light of the circumstances the country is going through.
