WASHINGTON, January 24, 2017— The World Bank is forecasting strong gains for industrial commodities such as energy and metals in 2017, due to tightening supply and strengthening demand.

The Ambassador answered questions about Iraq's domestic policies, US-Iraq relations, the global fight against Daesh and how the media shapes Iraq's public image.

President Barham Salih received the Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawishoglu, in Erbil, Monday, June 10, 2019, and discussed with him the latest political developments in the region.

The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives has scheduled a meeting on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, to consider H.R. 1654, a bill to “authorize the direct provision of defense articles, defense services, and related training to the Kurdistan Regional Government.”

The Ambassador answered questions about Iraq's domestic security situation, US-Iraq relations, educational opportunities for young Iraqis and the global fight against ISIS.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah met with Denise Onsell and Aisling Kiernan, two representatives of the American Merck Health Services Company, which recently signed an MOU with the Iraqi Ministry of Health. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation in health domain and reduce medicines that do not stick to international standards and of unreliable origins.
