The Iraqi Foreign Ministry expressed its strong condemnation and for the terrorist attack on Ahwaz, which resulted in the deaths of several members of the Iranian security services and civilians.

The Foreign Ministry reiterates Iraq's firm stance on the rejection of violence regardless of motives, reasons and in any country, which would tarnish the security and stability of the country.

The ministry expresses its condolences to the victims' families, the government and the people of the Islamic Republic, and wishes the wounded speedy recovery.

"Just as Iraq is working with the United States and all our international partners to defeat Daesh, we must also work together to rebuild our country in every way – physically, socially, economically and politically," said Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi.

President Salih sent a letter of condolences today to the national cultural and literary community upon hearing about the tragic passing of the Secretary General of the Union of Iraqi Writers, Ibrahim al-Khayat.

With heavy hearts, we are stunned to learn the tragic news about the passing of one of Iraq’s great writers and poets, Ibrahim al-Khayat.

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington is pleased to announce the launch of the "Study in Iraq" program aimed at attracting international students to Iraqi universities for the 2024/2025 academic year. The program offers 14,322 academic seats from 59 governmental and private Iraqi universities. 57% of these seats are allocated to full scholarships, while 43% are for partial scholarships. President Salih met His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, in New York today. He began the meeting by noting the incredible resurgence of business and civic life that Iraq is experiencing.
President Salih went on to highlight the need to support hard-won stability in Iraq, and to complete the victory against terrorism through construction and development. He also noted the importance of working to develop more positive regional dynamics so as to enhance security and stability.
