Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah met with the Democratic representative from Massachusetts Moulton, and co-chair of the Iraq Support Group in the US Congress. Common issues and bilateral relations between both countries were discussed, and representative Moulton expressed his desire to visit Iraq.

President Barham Salih has exchanged congratulations with a number of Majesties, Excellencies and Highness; the leaders of brotherly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Thursday, with a group of the Iraqi community in Houston, Texas, during his official visit to the United States. He listened to their living conditions and proposals which all aim to serve their home country.

Meeting with US Central Command Chief General Kenneth McKenzie today in Baghdad, President Salih highlighted the need to develop friendly relations between Iraq and US in addition to coordinate and collaborate in the fight against terrorism.
Furthermore, he underlined that Iraq will not be a theatre of regional and international conflicts.
We, therefore, seek to build good relations with all states and we have no interest in being dragged into conflicts not of our choice and making, President Salih added.

President Barham Salih welcomed Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Iraq, to the Presidential Office in Baghdad today.
The President emphasized the international organization’s critical role in Iraq, citing efforts the UN has made to support the democratic process across the country as well as highlighting the importance of Iraq as a potential trusted actor that could help reduce regional tension and consolidate international peace and security.

The Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Mohammed Husham met with the Deputy Director of the Office of International Religious Freedom at US State Department Ms. Mariah Mercer, on August 2, and discussed bilateral cooperation in promoting freedom of belief and multireligionism in Iraq and the region. ...
