The Foreign Ministry of Iraq expresses the solidarity of the Government and the people of Iraq with the brothers in the Republic of Tunisia following the floods that swept through Nabeul governorate in the north-east of the country, resulting in a number of casualties and damage to buildings and public and private facilities. The Iraqi Foreign Ministry extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and prays for speedy recovery of injured.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received phone call from Mr. Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region.
During the call they expressed their wishes to the Minister for success in his duties, and to administer diplomatic work to achieve a steady advance in Iraq’s relations with the world, and achieve the interests of the people and their aspiration towards progress and prosperity.

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari praised the contributions of the participating countries to the Iraq Reconstruction Conference held in Kuwait on 12-14 February 2018, praising the distinguished role of the State of Kuwait in organizing this conference.

The General Assembly of the League of Nations agreed on October 3, 1932, to accept Iraq as a member of the League of Nations upon the request submitted by the Iraqi Kingdom with the signature of former Prime Minister Nouri Pasha Al-Saeed on July 12, 1932, becoming the first Arab country to join this international organization at the time.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Adil Al-Jubair.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means of strengthening them to achieve common interests , and the regional and international issues of concern to the two brotherly countries. Minister Alhakim called for the importance of concerted efforts to resolve the crises effecting the region.
