The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq and its employees extends its most sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims of the tragic fire that occurred 24th of April 2021, at Baghdad’s Ibn AL khatib Hospital.


We ask God Almighty, during these blessed days of the holy month of Ramadan, to have mercy on the souls of the innocent martyrs, grant patience and solace for their families and loved ones, and a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured.
To Allah, we belong, and to Him, we shall return.

His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi has received a call, Today on Thursday, from U.S. Secretary of States Michael R. Pompeo.
Mr. Pompeo has congratulated Prime Minister on the occasion of receiving the Parliament's confidence and forming the government, stressing the support of the United States of America to Iraq and the Iraqi government in all fields.

Based on the public interest, according to Article 78 of the Constitution and upon delegation of the Council of Representatives, we have decided, on behalf of the people, to:

Reduce the number of cabinet members to become 22 in addition to the Prime Minister instead of 33 members, according to the following:

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari stressed on the necessity of punishing the Zionist entity for its crimes and that the Islamic and Arab countries should rise to the level of the event. This came in a speech to the minister at the ministerial conference on the sidelines of the extraordinary summit of the Islamic Cooperation Council in Istanbul.

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq organized a solidarity and mourning gathering where Al-Fatihah Surah was read, out of loyalty and respect to the innocent souls of the brotherly Palestinian people, who were martyred as a result of the Zionist entity’s bombing of the Alma’madani “Baptist” Hospital in the Gaza Strip in Palestine.

The United Nations Security Council has unanimously voted to remove Iraq from Chapter VII of the UN Charter, moving the country a step closer to ending UN sanctions imposed over two decades ago.

Foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari and the Russian vice president Mr. Demitry Roghozen headed the mutual Iraqi- Russian committee in Moscow, preparing to hold the seventh session of the committee activities on 2018.

Both sides reviewed the bilateral Iraqi- Russian economic, commercial relations, and continue working on developing the legal and Regulatory basis for the bilateral cooperation between both countries, I addition to discussing the developed cooperation in industry and increasing the efforts in developing the cooperation in Oil and Gas.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, a member of both the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services Committees, at Prime Minister’s residence in Washington D.C., on Wednesday afternoon (Baghdad time).
During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani affirmed that his visit included a series of successful meetings with President Biden and other U.S. officials, which are crucial for enhancing the bilateral relations.
