H.E Foreign Minister, Mr. Fuad Hussein and his accompanying delegation met, on 25 June 2021 with the Speaker of the Spanish House of Representatives, H.E. Mrs. Meritxell Batet. During the meeting, the Minister presented a summary of the current situation in Iraq and the region and the challenges facing the Iraqi government, as well as the preparations for holding elections next October, stressing the importance of these elections for Iraq.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Dutch Minister of Migration Ms. Ankie Broekers. During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of cooperation between the Migration Ministries of both countries. Minister Alhakim expressed Baghdad’s keenness to seek opportunities to exchange common interests between the two friendly peoples in the field of capacity building, skills, knowledge , border management, development of port control staff, authentication of travel documents, and the adoption of advanced and modern techniques in this regard.

Alhakim discussed with Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, the Cypriot Foreign Minister the prospects for upgrading bilateral relations between the two countries by signing a number of memorandums of understanding, and activating the memorandum of understanding for political consultations between Iraq and Cyprus.

The two Ministers also discussed accelerate the holding of the International Conference for Reconstruction and Development in Iraq.
