Iraq’s Ministry of Oil recently approved a contract for a Karbala refinery, which will produce a wide range of petroleum products and serve growing domestic demand.

Rehabilitation work will include maintenance of historical cities of Babylon, Ur, Warka, Hatra and Ashur and is crucial to improving Iraq’s historic and tourism sites.

Iraq recently participated in the Second International Conference to support the humanitarian situation in Syria, in response to an appeal launched by the Secretary - General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon.

IHEC will run registration and the voting process for voters living abroad to coincide with the parliamentary elections inside Iraq in April.
